There's a guy in my block of flats who owns two bull terriers and who has taught them to fight with the other bull terriers around here (council estate, the usual mentality). They're only play-fighting, but they're all big bull terriers, it's pretty rowdy. Recently his dogs savaged a border collie, unsurprising given how they've been taught to 'play'... and after he managed to pull them off the bleeding collie, he took them into his flat and audibly kicked the shit out of them. Until people like that are stopped from owning dogs, I don't see the news agenda changing much. :( (Here via Libcon)
